- Ahichhatrapur in the Nagaur region preserves sacred traditions associated with both Vaiṣṇava and Śaiva worship, centered around an ancient Radha Krishna Temple and the revered Pathaleshwara shrine.
- Local traditions affirm that Adi Shankaracharya offered anugraha at the Radha Krishna Temple and worshipped Pathaleshwara during the course of his Yatra through the region, strengthening the spiritual continuity of the kṣetra.
- The region is also traditionally remembered as the site of several large samāveśas conducted by Adi Shankaracharya, where more than 36,000 people from diverse communities are believed to have gathered for spiritual dialogue and guidance. The central theme of these upanyāsas was Swadharma — emphasizing the importance of living in alignment with one’s rightful dharma, responsibilities, and spiritual path for the harmony and upliftment of both the individual and society.
The above findings are based on local recitations and living traditions, as well as inscriptions and markers observed at the site, supported by available historical references, certain scientific observations, and guidance from the Shastras. As our understanding continues to evolve, we will update this account from time to time as additional insights and information emerge from local communities and further study.
