From the Sampoorna Bharata Yatra of Sri Sri Shankara Bharati Mahaswamiji

Information uncovered during the Shaankara Jyoti Prakasha initiative to document Adi Shankara's continuing civilizational legacy.

आदि शंकराचार्य का यहाँ आगमन

A Hanuman temple situated on the hill (Bandarkoot) above the main shrine is traditionally associated with Adi Shankaracharya's visit and blessings. Along with the Bala Ashtabhuja Mandir, these shrines form an important sacred complex, preserving local memories of the Acharya's presence and the enduring worship traditions of the region.

The above findings are based on local recitations and living traditions, as well as inscriptions and markers observed at the site, supported by available historical references, certain scientific observations, and guidance from the Shastras. As our understanding continues to evolve, we will update this account from time to time as additional insights and information emerge from local communities and further study.
