Adi Shankaracharya's Visit
- The Hanuman Mandir at Neeracha, located in the Beri region of present-day near in Jhajjar district, is a locally venerated Hanuman kṣetra situated amidst the historic rural-sacred landscape of the region. The temple is centered around a revered Hanuman vigraha worshipped and regarded by local devotees as a jāgr̥ta murti embodying kṣetra-rakṣaṇa — the protective guardianship of the surrounding settlements. The shrine continues to function as a living center of devotion, drawing pilgrims from nearby villages and sustaining enduring currents of bhakti, oral tradition, and temple worship across generations.
- Tradition holds that Adi Shankaracharya visited this kṣetra and sanctified the region through the consecration of an Anjaneya vigraha, a sacred presence that, though no longer visible today, continues to live in the devotional memory and oral traditions of the local community.
