Adi Shankaracharya's Visit
- At Sarnal, the kṣetra of Galteśvara Mahādeva is held in reverence through enduring local recitation and memory. Tradition affirms that the Liṅga was worshipped by Galvi Maharṣi, sanctifying the space through tapas and sustained devotion.
- The same paramparā further recalls that Adi Shankaracharya worshipped this Liṅga during his yātra, continuing the current of Śaiva upāsanā at this sacred site.
- The kṣetra thus stands as a meeting point of ṛṣi-tapas and ācārya-anugraha, preserved through living remembrance.
The above findings are based on local recitations and living traditions, as well as inscriptions and markers observed at the site, supported by available historical references, certain scientific observations, and guidance from the Shastras.
