Adi Shankaracharya's Visit
Gabbar Hill, rising in the sacred Aravalli range near the Arasuri Ambaji Mata Temple, is revered as the original seat of Amba Devi and a vital part of the Ambaji Shakti Peetha kshetra. Pilgrims ascend its steps as an act of devotion, approaching a summit where the Divine Mother is worshipped both as an eternal jyoti —symbolizing her formless, primordial presence—and through a visible form that allows for intimate upasana. The hill thus embodies a seamless union of nirākāra and sākāra worship, offering a deeply experiential connection to Shakti in her most ancient and immediate presence. It is traditionally believed that Adi Shankaracharya visited this very स्थल, recognizing and reinforcing its profound spiritual significance within the larger dharmic landscape.
